Thanks for stumbling upon my portfolio. This is a hodgepodge of websites and graphics i’ve designed for other people and businesses as well as stuff i’ve designed in my free time. I am still in the process of gathering content together for this portfolio so forgive the semi-emptiness. Click on the pictures to enlarge them.
I created this site for a company specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of wine cellars.
It was created with a CMS engine, enabling the site to be maintained by the webmaster. A "News" feed page was created for the site, giving it blog-like functionality. The webmaster now has the ability to regularly update the site with recent news items and events, from which clients of the company can subscribe to. This information can be created and modified on the fly from a mobile device such as the iPhone.
This site was created for an up and coming design and marketing agency. I was approached by the Creative Director Damian and given the website specifications. He wanted a web standards compliant website that would rank high on search engines. This meant extensive use of SEO.
The website was to contain a portfolio of the company's numerous graphic illustrations and package designs. I showcased these using Javascript to enlarge the thumbnails to their original size on the same page. To prevent excessive workload on the server, I used CSS sprites for the hover functions, thus preventing unnecessary requests to the server.
This was done for one of my colleagues at work. He is a photographer in his spare time and thought he'd like a website to showcase his skills (for cheap). He wanted a fun site styled with very vibrant colours. The colours to be used were specified, and the scrolling flash banner at the bottom of the page was provided. The background vexel was designed by myself using illustrator and some photoshop.
Since this was going to be another showcase portfolio, similar techniques to the ones in the Indigo River project were implemented, such as the use of Javascript to enlarge the images on click. (Needless to say I had nothing to do with the ghastly looking shiny banner on the home page)
This is a music blog created for Birmingham's DJ Stampeeder. I was involved in the entire design and colour scheme of the site. This project was mostly HTML and CSS editing. I edited the logo graphic using Photoshop, adding subtle elements to it such as the clouds and the starburst in the background. The background was created using the same program. My intention was to create an illusion of outer space with its innumerable stars.
I made this logo for a bunch of students from a University in London that were starting up a furniture company. The furniture is to be made from metal and sustainable wood, hence the metallic and wooden textures.
